Packaging Description: The nasal spray is a cloudy, white slurry, and is contained in glass, amber, transparent vials of 10 ml (about 200 doses) with plastic spraying device and nasal tip.

Budesonide belongs to the class of drugs called corticosteroids, which are used to reduce inflammation. Budesonide reduces and prevents, inflammation or swelling of the nasal mucosa.
Addressing the symptoms of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children (6 years and older), and chronic non-allergic rhinitis in adults only.

Treating the symptoms of nasal obstruction, associated with nasal polyps in adults.
You should before get Obecirol nasal spray, to tell your doctor if you have ever had an unusual hypersensitivity to budesonide or any of the substances in medicine or other drugs.
  • Addressing the symptoms of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis. Adults, elderly and children of 6 years and over: The recommended starting dose is 200 - 400 mcg total, daily. The dose may be administered once daily in the morning or divided into two doses in the morning and evening: 200 mcg (2 sprays x 100 mcg) in each nostril in the morning or 100 mcg (1 spray x 100 mcg) in each nostril twice daily, morning and evening. Do not use more than twice a day. There are no data on the use of the drug in children younger than 6 years for this indication, for this reason should not be administered in this patient group.
  • Treating the symptoms of chronic non-allergic rhinitis in adults only. Dosage as indicated above. Not suitable for this indication in children because clinical studies did not include a sufficient number of children.
  • Treating the symptoms of nasal obstruction, associated with nasal polyps in adults. The recommended dose is 200 mcg twice daily (1 spray x 100 mcg) in each nostril, morning and night, for up to 3 months. There are no data on the use of the drug in children for this indication, for it is granted only to adults.
Note: On the initial use, OBECIROL nasal spray is not directly eliminating symptoms. You may need to use it for a few days (sometimes up to two weeks) until improvement of symptoms.

After achieving the desired clinical effect, the maintenance dose should be limited to the minimum amount necessary to control symptoms.
If you suffer from seasonal allergic rhinitis, try to start treatment with OBECIROL few days ago from the start of allergy.
The OBECIROL nasal spray is not indicated for the relief of allergy symptoms in the eye.
If you feel discomfort in your eyes, the doctor may prescribe another drug to relieve these symptoms.
Children should always use the nasal spray under the supervision of an adult, to ensure that the dose is administered properly and that the dosage complies with the prescription by the doctor.
